Khaberni - Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher described the "Reds'" 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League on Sunday evening as "one of the biggest heists" this season.
Carragher harshly criticized the performance of Liverpool's Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah and his teammate Cody Gakpo, while praising the performance of the promising young player, Reo Ngoumoha.
Salah and Gakpo played for 77 minutes before being substituted by Dutch coach Arne Slot, who introduced English teenager Reo Ngoumoha in place of the Egyptian star, and Italian winger Federico Chiesa in place of Gakpo.
After the exit of Salah and Gakpo, Liverpool threw everything at the Nottingham goal to snatch the winning goal, and in the 89th minute, the team scored through Argentine star Mac Allister, receiving a cross from Reo Ngoumoha on the right side, which Ekitike headed on goal, saved by Nottingham's goalkeeper Ortega, only for the ball to be cleared by a Nottingham player Ina towards Mac Allister, who kicked it into the net.
After reviewing the video assistant referee (VAR), the match referee decided to disallow the goal after TV replays showed Mac Allister handling the ball.
The excitement continued in the game as Mac Allister returned and scored the winning goal for Liverpool in the seventh minute of added time, which was followed by the match referee blowing the final whistle, declaring a "Reds" victory. However, Carragher was not convinced by the performance his former team delivered, describing it as lackluster against a team struggling at the bottom of the table.
