Khaberni – The Judicial Enforcement Administration has called on all tenants to take the necessary legal actions immediately after signing the lease agreements, particularly concerning the transfer of water and electricity meters to their personal names.
The administration clarified that it has recently noticed an increase in judicial execution requests filed against landlords based on absentee judgments issued against them, due to tampering with the meters, which were registered under the landlords' names although the actual benefit was for the tenants.
The administration confirmed that this measure not only aims to protect the landlords from bearing financial burdens that are not their fault but also constitutes a legal obligation that protects the tenant from future accountability and prevents the issuance of absentee judgments against them which could affect their legal and financial status.
It pointed out that inquiries about legal claims and transaction follow-up can be made by calling the toll-free number (117111), and services and inquiries can be monitored electronically through the “Sanad” application easily and securely.
