Khaberni - The Egyptian Football Association mourns the player of Mansoura Workers' Club, Mu'tasim Zakaria, who passed away last Saturday, due to a tragic traffic accident while distributing breakfast meals to the fasting people on a road in Dakahlia Governorate.
The Egyptian Football Association stated in a post on its "X" platform account: "Engineer Hany Abu Rida, president of the Egyptian Football Association, and the members of the board of directors, the general secretary, the employees of the union, and the Dakahlia branch of football, mourn with deep sorrow and sadness the young player, Mu'tasim Zakaria, born in 2011, who passed away today (yesterday), praying to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy on him and grant his family and loved ones patience and consolation."
On its part, the Workers' Sports Club mourned its player Zakaria in a post on "Facebook", which stated: "Passed to the mercy of God, our player Mu'tasim Zakaria, a player of the 2011 team, due to a tragic accident."
According to local media reports, the incident occurred on one of the highways, when the player was hit by a car while he was doing a charitable act of distributing breakfast meals to travelers and passersby.
The national media authority website mentioned that the player, who was 14 years old, died at the scene of the accident, in a painful incident that shook the sports community and aroused a wide state of sympathy.
