Khaberni - In an important meeting at the headquarters of the Jordan Hotel Association, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by His Excellency Minister Imad Hijazin and a team from the ministry's staff, gathered alongside the General Director of the Jordan Tourism Board, Mr. Ramzi Maaytah, with the association’s board in a meeting that reflected a spirit of national responsibility and genuine partnership between the public and private sectors.
The meeting took place at a crucial time, where the main challenges facing the hospitality sector were reviewed, whether related to operational costs, legislation, tourism promotion, or sustainability of the tourism product in light of regional and international changes. Issues were raised with high transparency, supported by data and indicators reflecting the market reality and its actual needs.
The meeting included an in-depth professional discussion during which agreement was reached on identifying the relevant authorities to directly address each challenge within a clear timeline, ensuring the shift from diagnosis to execution phase, with emphasis on the importance of integrating roles between the ministry, the tourism board, and the association to achieve tangible impact on the ground.
His Excellency the Minister praised the proposals and ideas presented by the association's board, commending the realistic approach and practical solutions that reflect field experience and accurate knowledge of sector details, affirming that the upcoming phase requires teamwork and continuous communication channels to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and development.
Attendees emphasized that the hospitality sector is a fundamental pillar of the national economy, and that supporting and empowering it directly impacts employment rates, job opportunities, and investment, in addition to enhancing Jordan's image as a safe and diverse tourist destination, thus boosting investor confidence and cementing the kingdom’s position on the regional and international tourism map.
