With US Approval Israel Refuses to Fund Peace Council Chaired by Trump

Khaberni - The Israeli Army Radio reported today, Sunday, that Israel has informed US President Donald Trump that it will not pay money for the Gaza-specific peace council he chairs.

The radio stated that Israel officially declared its refusal to contribute financially to the "Peace Council" chaired by Trump, with Washington's approval to exempt it from any payments, unlike other member states such as Qatar and the UAE, which have committed over two billion dollars.

Israeli Minister of Political and Security Affairs Ze'ev Elkin confirmed in media statements that "there is no justification for paying money after being attacked, nor for funding the reconstruction of Gaza," indicating that the decision has calmed the reservations of ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich towards Israel's membership alongside Turkey and Qatar.

So far, the council has raised about 5 billion dollars from its members, while negotiations continue about the commitments of other countries of about one billion dollars per country.
