Khaberni - Former Iranian Foreign Minister and member of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Manouchehr Mottaki said, "If the United States makes any wrong step, it will receive a response in less than 10 minutes.
He mentioned during a media interview that the failure of the twelve-day war and the recent failures in Iran are factors that have led to the United States' hesitation to go to war against Iran.
The former diplomat indicated that "if the Americans do not enter the war after the failure of the negotiations, the current situation will continue and we will achieve our goals."
This statement comes at a time when the region is experiencing escalating tension, with the continued buildup of US military forces in the Gulf waters amid a deadlock in indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
Some media reports suggest that US forces in the region are ready to carry out strikes on Iran soon, but President Donald Trump's administration has not yet made a decision on this as it hopes the negotiations with the Iranian side on Iran's nuclear program will yield results.
The reports indicated that the Iranian response to possible strikes may include targeting US bases in the region.
In this context, a well-informed defense source revealed to RT that the US military buildup in Western Asia aims to extort Iran and the countries of the region.
The source mentioned that the Trump administration is procrastinating "to buy time" in order to increase military and political pressure to force Tehran to accept its terms.
He affirmed that the United States "is well aware of Iran's capacity and will to respond," warning that Tehran "will not give America much time for such maneuvers, and could change its course at any moment."
He emphasized that Iran "will not involve itself in a long and futile negotiation process," considering that "negotiations in which the prospects for lifting sanctions are weak cannot be of value to Iran."
At the end of his statements, the well-informed defense source explained that Iran "is determined, in the event of a war being launched by the USA or Israel, to respond broadly and unlimitedly against their interests together."
