Khaberni - Egyptian media has stirred significant controversy over the possibility of an unexpected player returning to the ranks of Al Ahly.
El Masry El Youm, citing media personality Saif Zaher, noted that “the Reds” have listed Palestinian player Wissam Abu Ali, who plays for Columbus Crew in the United States, as a potential option for a return to Al Ahly in the upcoming period.
Zaher clarified that the planning committee within Al Ahly has discussed the idea of bringing the player back to the first team, confirming that the matter is still under study and has not yet become an official step.
He pointed out that Abu Ali's return seems difficult at the moment, especially given his departure at the start of the current season in a record financial deal, after the player insisted on experiencing professional play in the American league.
Abu Ali had left the Red Castle after insisting on transferring to his new club, in a deal considered one of the biggest in terms of financial return that Al Ahly has made.
