The official statement issued through her lawyer, Nehad Abul Komsan, which was published by Asmaa Galal on her official account stated: “Actress Asmaa Galal and her legal representative followed what was aired in her episode on one of the entertainment shows, and the subsequent broad social media distribution.”
The statement affirmed that Asmaa participated in the filming based on it being "an entertainment show based on the usual surprise," and she was neither shown nor previously notified of any content including the voiceover "intro" added in the editing phase, which included "phrases, bullying, and physical and personal insinuations that violate respect and dignity and have nothing to do with the prank or the artistic work."
Nehad Abul Komsan clarified that the intro and some of the presenter's behaviors and comments "exceed the limit of acceptable jest or artistic criticism, and veer into the domain of psychological harm and personal offence," especially when it pertains to human physique or personal traits that are irrelevant to the entertainment content.
The statement reiterated: "Participation in an artistic or entertainment work does not mean consent to be insulted or reduced to a subject of personal ridicule."
The office announced the commencement of a review of the extent to which the episode's content violates criminal law and media regulations, with the actress reserving all her legal and moral rights against anyone involved in publishing or redistributing content that includes insults, bullying, or unacceptable insinuations against her.
Asmaa attributed her initial silence to "her appreciation of the holy month’s spirit," but she emphasized that "human dignity remains a red line that should not be crossed under any guise of entertainment."
The statement concluded with thanks to everyone who expressed support and understanding, with affirmation of her hope that "the artistic space remains based on mutual respect and not at the expense of any human’s feelings or body."
