Khaberni – A government source clarified statements made by Jamal Amro, the representative of the food sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, regarding the specification of Tunisian olive oil.
The source confirmed to Khaberni that the statements were related to the quantity and packaging form, and not to the quality of Tunisian olive oil, while the statements were misunderstood by some consumers.
The source explained that the violation mentioned in the statement relates to the conditions set by the Ministry of Agriculture for packaging Tunisian olive oil in tin containers of 5 liters or less, which are currently not available in Tunisian factories.
The source noted that the other violation relates to the form of the tin, which the Ministry of Agriculture requires to be printed on all four sides.
The source mentioned that the olive oil as a substance inside the tins is 100% compliant with the Jordanian specification.
