Khaberni – While the General Organization for Social Security closed a survey about its new law less than 24 hours after proposing it, the Public Service and Administration Authority stated that voting on the proposal to implement a four-day workweek is still ongoing.
The Authority invited public sector employees to participate in the survey, setting Tuesday, February 24, 2026, as the last day to vote.
The Authority launched the survey link last Wednesday, explaining that the survey concerns the organization of the workweek, particularly the option of working four days instead of five, at a rate of 8 hours and 45 minutes per day, which is an increase of 1 hour and 45 minutes over the current daily work duration.
The Authority clarified that employees can share their opinions through the link (click here), noting that educational positions, medical jobs, and healthcare workers in the Ministry of Health are excluded from this study.
The Authority stated that the launch of the survey is in line with the directives of Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan, which emphasized the importance of listening to employees' opinions before making any potential regulatory decisions and as part of efforts to develop the work environment and enhance the efficiency of public administration, pointing out that employee participation in sharing their opinions contributes to building institutional decisions based on data.
