Khaberni - A royal decree was issued in Saudi Arabia today appointing Sheikh Saleh Al-Maghamsi as Imam in the Prophet's Mosque, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Sheikh Saleh Al-Maghamsi was born in Medina in 1963 and grew up in a scholarly environment. He later specialized in the academic field of exegesis studies.
He says about his life: "I attended elementary school at Nasiriyah School and then middle and high school, all of which were in Medina. As for the university stage, it was at King Abdulaziz University, Medina branch, in the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, although my major was Arabic Language".
He continued according to what was published on the site Al-Rasikhoon in Knowledge: "As for learning in mosques and from scholars, Sheikh Muhammad Amin Al-Shanqiti was my neighbor. I did not study directly under him but made up for this by immersing myself in his books, as he had passed away when I was just eleven years old. I studied under Sheikh Atiyyah Muhammad Salem and Sheikh Abu Bakr Al-Jaza'iri, and then there were opportunistic meetings with Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen and a few meetings with Sheikh Ibn Baz."
