Khaberni - The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, condemned the statements made by the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, describing them as «extremely extremist», after he stated that Israel has the right to control the Middle East, based on religious texts from the Old Testament.
The spokesperson for the Secretary-General, Jamal Rashidi, conveyed that Aboul Gheit considers these statements «in violation of all fundamentals of diplomacy and its norms», in addition to being illogical and irrational, asserting that they also contradict the policies and declared positions of the United States.
The spokesperson added that such extremist statements contribute to fueling emotions and igniting religious and national sentiments, at a time when nations are seeking to collaborate under the Peace Council to discuss the implementation of the peace agreement in Gaza.
