Civil Consumerism No Sale of Tunisian Olive Oil Today Role Distribution Begins Sunday

Khaberni - The General Manager of the Civil Consumer Corporation, Essam Al-Jarah, said on Saturday that Tunisian olive oil is available in all branches of the corporation, explaining that to control the selling process, each citizen is allowed only one bottle, and employees are not allowed to purchase.

Al-Jarah ruled out opening sales of olive oil today due to the large numbers of people queuing to buy, indicating that sales will be conducted tomorrow, Sunday, after distributing roles to prevent overcrowding.

The Civil Consumer Corporation announced on Friday that quantities of Tunisian olive oil had arrived, and previously stated that it would be available on its shelves from Saturday at 9 AM, in 5-liter bottles priced at 21 dinars.

Al-Jarah added that quantities of the oil were distributed across the corporation's branches, with about 100 more bottles to be distributed as well, talking about large quantities coming to Jordan from multiple sources at the same quality and price.

He noted that the corporation continues to import oil to meet needs.

Al-Jarah pointed out that today's overcrowding scene was unacceptable, and, therefore, the corporation will implement a mechanism for distributing roles.

He stressed that sales will only be for those who have a role, and reiterated that distributing roles will continue and if the available quantities run out, the same role can be used to purchase when new quantities are imported.

Al-Jarah said: "We have contracts with several companies to import the oil, and there is no need for rushing, and both the civil and military institutions have contracts for large quantities, and the price will remain the same."
