Khaberni - The case of the young man who was forced to wear women's clothing "dance suit" in an Egyptian village in Qalyubia Governorate has seen a sudden development after the girl changed her statements about the incident in front of the investigative authorities.
The incident revolves around a girl's family attacking a young man and humiliating him by forcing him to wear a women's dance suit and stand in the middle of the street, for having a romantic relationship with one of their daughters who ran away from her home to him. Initially, the girl confirmed that he did not kidnap her, treated her well, and that she went to him willingly.
However, the incident took a sudden turn after the girl changed her statements during the investigation and accused the young man of luring her and assaulting her.
The lawyer of the victim, Galia Amer, said that the girl filed a new report against him, turning the case from a public insult to a criminal accusation placing the young man under suspicion after he was initially the victim.
The case, which caused a lot of debate and anger due to the humiliation of the young man, began when video clips spread on social media showing a young man from Mit Asem village in Banha, Qalyubia governorate, being forced to wear women's clothing in a scene many considered a severe insult and an attack on his dignity.
