Khaberni - Brazilian star Neymar Junior, winger for Santos club, revealed a shocking surprise about his future on the fields after raising the idea of retirement in the near future.
Neymar has been playing for Santos of Brazil since January 2025, where he joined on a free transfer after mutually terminating his contract with Al-Hilal Saudi.
In an interview with "CazeTV", Neymar thought about the possibility of ending his football career at the end of the year.
Neymar said: "I don't know what will happen from now on and I don't know what will happen next year, maybe December comes and I want to retire".
He continued: "Now I live each year as it comes, this year is very important for Santos and for the Brazilian team because of the World Cup, so it represents a big challenge for me too".
He continued: "I wanted to play again this season with all my strength and for this reason I participated in some matches and took more care of myself. I know many people say empty words but they don't know what happens daily and don't realize the reality of the situation. Santos club made a very good plan and that has helped me a lot in this respect".
Neymar concluded his statements by saying: "I take care in the recovery process to return to full physical fitness and I live day by day, and we will see what my heart decides".
Neymar is working hard to secure a place in Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the 2026 World Cup in June, which may also be his last appearance at the national team level.
Since his return to Santos, Neymar has played 31 matches in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing 5 crucial assists to his teammates, and missed many team matches due to injury.
