Khaberni - Khaberni website learned that Jordan responded to Ramallah Authority's request to lift banking secrecy and seize the movable and immovable funds belonging to Nazmi Muhanna, the dismissed director of the Palestinian crossings, along with his wife's and children's funds, convicted in a financial corruption case.
The Palestinian judicial authorities requested from Jordan to Khaberni implement precautionary seizure decisions and trace potential real estate assets of Muhanna who fled to Bosnia with his son, the ambassador appointed there by decree from Mahmoud Abbas.
On February 2nd, the Palestinian Court of Corruption Crimes issued a 15-year prison sentence against Muhanna Khaberni and 7 years against his wife, obligating him to repay amounts totaling 6,137,225 shekels, 4,499,030 US dollars, 2,923,717 Jordanian dinars, and 6,974 euros, in addition to a fine equal to these amounts.
