Initiating the Development of the Dead Sea Tourist Beach and Signing the Operation Agreement in Preparation for Eid alFitr

Khaberni - The Jordanian Group for Free Zones and Development Areas has initiated a new phase of comprehensive development for the Dead Sea tourist beach (formerly known as Amman Tourist Beach), as part of its strategy aimed at enhancing the national tourism product and increasing the competitiveness of the Dead Sea development area as a global destination, and creating an additional recreational space for the Jordanian citizen.

The chairman of the group's board, Sakher Al-Ajlouni, affirmed that this move aims to enhance integration between the "Tourist Beach" and "Corniche" projects, as they are two fundamental pillars for increasing the attractiveness of the area.

The group has signed a management and operation agreement with (FHM) for managing and operating hotels, restaurants, and tourism facilities, a national institution with extensive experience in managing and operating hotels, restaurants, and tourist facilities, to undertake the tasks of refurbishing and operating the facilities according to the latest international standards, in preparation for welcoming visitors during the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the upcoming tourism season.

Al-Ajlouni explained that the agreement aims to introduce modern management methods based on advanced technologies, while fully adhering to public safety and environmental sustainability standards, ensuring an exceptional experience for both Jordanian visitors and foreign tourists.

The tourist beach extends over an area of 240 dunams (about 59 acres), with a capacity exceeding 4500 visitors at once. The development plan is designed to provide a safe family experience, including updating all service facilities, establishing shaded seating areas, and offering hotel and entertainment services that meet the expectations of visitors.

Al-Ajlouni emphasized that the project carries developmental dimensions that go beyond tourism, as it will contribute to creating direct job opportunities for the local community, alongside activating community responsibility programs pursued by the group to support the surrounding environment and achieve sustainable development.

The acting general manager of the development areas, Reem Sahawneh, explained that the new operating contract covers a wide range of tasks, from operation and day-to-day management to maintenance, and extends to digital marketing and promotion and managing the ticketing system.

Sahawneh confirmed that the goal is to ensure the continuity of operational quality and to provide integrated services that befit the Dead Sea's status as a unique tourist destination.

It is anticipated that the newly revamped tourist beach will be a quality addition to the tourism investment system in the kingdom, reflecting the commitment of the Jordanian Group for Free Zones and Development Areas to support the national economy and stimulate the business environment in development areas.
