Khaberni - On behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, sponsored on Friday the launch of the Hashemite Scientific Councils for this year, at the Islamic Cultural Center belonging to the Martyr King Abdullah I Mosque, may God bless his soul.
His Highness the Crown Prince attended the 120th Hashemite Scientific Council - the first of this year - organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, titled: "The Holy Quran as the Foremost and Strongest Source of Evidence".
During the council, the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, Ahmad Al-Hasanat spoke about understanding the Quranic text through the implications of definitive and speculative verses. His Eminence explained that the definitive verses in the Quran focused on major comprehensive issues in Islamic law, and that subsidiary issues, which constitute the major part of the law, accept speculative evidence.
The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Nadir Muhammad Ayad spoke about the characteristics of the Holy Quran, its authority, and its rulings.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites has been committed, every Ramadan, to holding Hashemite Scientific Councils, with the participation of scholars, preachers, and thinkers from the Islamic world, aiming to highlight the role of scholars in guiding the nation, clarifying the rulings of Islamic law, emphasizing the moderation of the message of Islam, and explaining the Islamic perspective on a number of contemporary issues.
Several high-ranking civil and military officials, muftis, sharia judges, imams, preachers, and female preachers, attended the launch of the councils' activities.
