Khaberni - The Qatari Ministry of Interior confirmed that it has recently been sending messages through the early warning system on mobile phones in conjunction with the reduction of horizontal visibility due to fog in most parts of the country, aiming to test the efficiency of the system and the levels of alerts as well as to measure the speed of message delivery to the public under real conditions, as part of the ministry's commitment to enhancing the public safety system and ensuring the readiness of national warning means.
The Ministry stated in an announcement today that the early warning system serves as an immediate alert used in emergency situations, where the message reaches all devices even in silent mode, enabling the public to take necessary precautions in a timely manner.
The Ministry emphasized that this system is not used for routine alerts or educational messages, but is activated only under exceptional circumstances that require an urgent warning to protect lives and properties.
