Khaberni - In the first firm diplomatic move, the Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takeichi, sharply criticized recent Chinese actions, warning of Beijing's attempts to change the "status quo" in the maritime regions of East Asia through the use of force or coercion.
Defending sovereignty
Takeichi, known for her staunch defensive stances, affirmed that Japan would enhance its deterrent capabilities in cooperation with its allies, emphasizing that the security of the waterways in the East China Sea is a "red line" that cannot be overlooked.
In press statements, she added that Tokyo is increasingly concerned about the frequent intrusions of Chinese vessels, considering them a direct threat to regional stability.
New strategy
Observers believe that the prime minister's statements set the stage for a new phase of "Japanese firmness," as her government intends to increase coordination with Washington and the "QUAD" (QUAD) countries to counter Beijing's expansionist ambitions. Takeichi concluded her speech by affirming that "peace is not achieved by wishing, but by the ability to protect borders and international law."
