Khaberni - The specialized control and inspection staff of the General Establishment for Food and Drug, through its branches in various regions of the kingdom, performed 304 field supervisory rounds on food establishments, until the pre-Iftar period on Thursday, as part of its ongoing surveillance campaigns.
The institution clarified in a press statement early Friday that based on the rounds, 26 establishments were stopped from operating due to low compliance with health and cleanliness requirements, and one establishment was closed, in addition to the destruction of 996 kg of various food items including expired canned goods and Ramadan juices.
The institution added that its supervisory campaigns executed by the surveillance teams during the night period are still ongoing until the dawn hours, and the institution has invited the public to communicate with it in case of any complaint or observation around the clock through the toll-free complaint line 117114 and via WhatsApp on the number 0795632000.
