Khaberni - The total sales of the National Electricity Company during the first month of this year increased by 8.6%, compared to the same month of the previous year.
According to the data issued by the company, the total of these sales during January of this year reached 2209.7 megawatts, compared with 2034.6 megawatts during the same month of the previous year. The energy exports accounted for 1.7% of these sales during the first month of this year, compared to about 1.3% during the same comparison period from the past, with the total exports by the company in the past January reaching 38.5 gigawatts/hour, compared to 27.9 gigawatts/hour during the same month of the previous year, an increase of 38.3%. These exports were distributed between the General Company for Electric Power Transmission with a total of 17.6 gigawatts/hour compared to 13.6 gigawatts/hour during the same month last year, an increase of 29.4%, in addition to 20.1 gigawatts/hour exported to the Jerusalem Electricity Company, compared to 13.5 gigawatts exported during the same month of the previous year, an increase of 48.9%, according to Al-Ghad.
The company also exported 0.83 gigawatts/hour to the Traibil border center with Iraq during the first month of this year, compared with 0.76 gigawatts/hour during the same month of the previous year.
Moreover, the total sales for the three distribution companies in the Kingdom reached 2132.5 gigawatts/hour, compared with 1967 gigawatts/hour during the same month of the previous year, an increase of 9.6%.
The share of the Jordanian Electricity Company from these sales was 1385.7 gigawatt/hours, compared with 1263.9 gigawatt/hours during the same month of the previous year, an increase of 9.6%, and the Irbid Electricity Company with total sales during the first month of this year reaching 417.5 gigawatts/hour, compared with 377.8 gigawatts/hour during the same month of the previous year, an increase of 10.5%.
Also, the total sales for the Electricity Distribution Company during the first month of this year reached 329.3 gigawatts/hour, compared with 325.3 gigawatts/hour during the same comparison period from the previous year, an increase of 1.2%.
The data also showed that the total energy sales that the company sold to major subscribers during the first month of this year were 38.7 gigawatts/hour, compared with 39.4 gigawatts/hour during the same month of the previous year, a decline of 1.8%.
