Trump gives Iran just two weeks to reach an agreement

Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will give Iran a maximum of 15 days to reach an agreement with the United States and believes this time is adequate to sign an agreement.

Trump added in a conversation with reporters while on board the presidential plane: "I think this time is sufficient (to reach an agreement with Iran), 10-15 days at most."

Negotiations between Tehran and Washington regarding the Iranian nuclear file took place last Tuesday at the Omani diplomatic mission's headquarters in Geneva. The Iranian delegation was headed by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the American delegation was led by the special American presidential envoy Steve Witkoff.

Afterward, Trump stated that the answer regarding the nuclear deal with Iran might come within the next ten days.

Araghchi described the negotiations as constructive and serious, stating that both sides managed to establish fundamental principles that they will work under to reach an additional agreement. After the Iranian and American delegations return to their countries, they will work on drafting the texts of a potential agreement, and then the parties will exchange texts and set a date for the third round of talks.
