Jordan Confirms the Importance of the Peace Council Meeting and Full Implementation of Trumps Plan for Gaza

Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi represented the kingdom on Thursday in the Peace Council meeting held under the presidency of U.S. President Donald Trump and attended by 48 countries.

Safadi conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Abdullah II to President Trump on the sidelines of the meeting, and appreciated the American President’s efforts to establish stability in Gaza.

On the sidelines of the Peace Council meeting, Safadi also met with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and discussed a number of bilateral issues in the context of a mutual interest to strengthen partnership relations between the kingdom and the United States, in addition to regional situations.

Safadi emphasized the importance of convening the Peace Council and the full implementation of the American President’s plan for Gaza.

Safadi also met with heads of delegations and foreign ministers who participated in the meeting.

Safadi confirmed that Jordan will contribute to the efforts to implement President Trump’s plan for Gaza by training Palestinian police officers in Jordan.

He stressed that Jordan would also continue to assist Gaza by enhancing the work of field hospitals in the sector, continuing to treat Gazan patients in the kingdom, and sending Jordanian and international humanitarian aid.

Safadi participated yesterday, Wednesday, in New York in the monthly security briefing for the Security Council about the situations in the Middle East including the Palestinian issue.
