Calls to Intensify Surveillance on Ajloun Markets During Ramadan

Khaberni - Citizens in Ajloun governorate have called on relevant authorities to intensify surveillance of markets during the blessed month of Ramadan to control prices and prevent any violations, emphasizing the importance of enhancing inspection rounds to ensure the availability of basic commodities at suitable quality and fair prices.

They pointed out the importance of continuing surveillance and activating the role of relevant authorities to protect consumers, which will enhance stability in the markets and limit any negative practices that may affect food security during the holy month.

The Governor of Ajloun, Nayef Al-Hadidat, stated that the governorate monitors the market conditions daily in coordination with the relevant authorities, emphasizing the need to intensify surveillance campaigns during the holy month, especially on food, meats, and sweets to ensure compliance with announced prices and health and safety conditions, and to take legal action against violators.

He explained that these measures will contribute to providing a safe and organized shopping environment, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and shared responsibility between official entities, the commercial sector, and the local community during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Mayor of Greater Ajloun, Engineer Mohammad Al-Bashabsheh, mentioned that the municipality's teams have intensified their field rounds in the markets and commercial stores, focusing on general cleanliness and food safety, affirming that the municipality will not relent in enforcing regulations and instructions to preserve the health of the citizens.

The Mayor of Kufranjah, Ismail Al-Aroud, said that the municipality is working in coordination with the supervisory bodies to regulate stalls and prevent infringements on sidewalks, which contributes to facilitating citizens' movement and enhancing traffic fluidity, in addition to monitoring the commercial establishments' adherence to health conditions.

The President of Ajloun Chamber of Commerce, former Deputy Arab Al-Samadi, stated that the Chamber urges traders to adhere to professional ethics and not to raise prices unjustifiably, noting that Ramadan presents an opportunity to enhance trust between the trader and the consumer, especially under the current economic conditions.

In turn, the Director of Industry and Trade, Engineer Majed Haddad, pointed to intensified surveillance rounds by the Directorate's teams, especially on subsidized and basic goods, ensuring that prices are clear and displayed to the consumer, calling on citizens to report any violation through official channels to ensure swift handling.
