Khaberni - Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Foreign Minister, announced the provision of $1.2 billion in support for the Gaza Strip through the "Peace Council".
This occurred during his participation in the opening meeting of the council chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Thursday, where he confirmed that the "Abraham Accords" launched in 2020 were a foundation for a more stable future, and are in complete alignment with the council’s current efforts in reconstruction.
The UAE's contribution comes as part of a massive support fund managed by the council, aimed at financing humanitarian relief, infrastructure building, and promoting good governance in Gaza.
The meeting, which included about 47 countries and international organizations, unveiled massive financial commitments; President Trump announced the United States would contribute $10 billion, taking the total commitments from member states to over $7 billion so far, in addition to commitments to deploy thousands of troops within the international stabilization force.
The UAE Minister praised the role of the "Peace Council" as an effective international framework for implementing the comprehensive peace plan (the twenty points) proposed by Trump.
He explained that the state sees this plan as a way to achieve coexistence and prosperity for the people of the region, with a strict focus on the rights of the Palestinian people.
