Jordan to Train Police Officers for Stability Force in Gaza

Khaberni - The commander of the international stability force in Gaza announced during a peace council meeting in Washington on Thursday that five countries have committed to sending troops to the sector.

General Jasper Jievers said, "The first five countries that pledged to send troops to serve within the international stability force are Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania. Two countries also pledged to train the police, namely Jordan and Egypt."

Jievers said that the international stability force would start deploying in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip, and train the police there before "expanding sector by sector."

He added that the long-term plan involves the participation of 20,000 soldiers from the international stability force and training 12,000 police officers.

President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said that his country is ready to support the international stability force in Gaza by deploying military units, including medical units.

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said that Jakarta will contribute eight thousand soldiers or more to an international security force to protect Gaza.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister expressed his country’s readiness to deploy police officers in Gaza.

Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, confirmed readiness to contribute to the security force in Gaza.
