Indonesian President Pledges 8000 Troops for Participation in Gaza Stabilization Force

Khaberni - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto announced his country's commitment to provide more than 8000 soldiers for participation in the Gaza stabilization force.

Subianto said in his speech during the opening of the Peace Council meetings in Washington, "We agreed with President Trump's plan and committed to it, therefore we joined the Peace Council and are committed to its success."

He added, "We are committed to providing more than 8000 soldiers to participate in the stabilization force".

The first meeting of the Peace Council, chaired by U.S. President Donald Trump, was held in Washington on Thursday.

The meeting chaired by Trump included a total of 47 countries, some of which are members of the council, in addition to the European Union as an "observer". The meeting will discuss reconstruction and securing stability in the Palestinian sector destroyed by extremist Zionist forces.

The meeting will explore the situation in Gaza amid hopes of dismantling the deadlock gripping the peace agreement.

The meeting's agenda covers 5 main topics including "disarmament", "reconstruction of Gaza", "deployment of stabilization forces", empowering the sector management committee, and implementing the Israeli withdrawal and tensions in the West Bank.

A ceasefire agreement has been in effect in the Gaza Strip since October 10, between the Zionist occupation forces and resistance factions, based on the plan of the U.S. President, and entered its second phase in mid-January, coinciding with the inauguration of the Peace Council.

Despite its theoretical announcement, thorny issues are accumulating in front of the path to implement the second phase, the most prominent of which include disarming "Hamas", reconstruction, deployment of Palestinian police forces and international stabilization forces, and a new Israeli withdrawal.
