Khaberni - Tkiyet Um Ali launched its Ramadan campaign for the year 2026 under the slogan "Your Zakat for Jordan and Gaza", embodying the values of social solidarity by directing Zakat funds to support food security and protect the neediest families, based on a fatwa issued by the General Iftaa' Department.
Tkiyet Um Ali accepts the Zakat funds from donors to be directed within comprehensive interventions that consider the varying needs within humanitarian contexts, ensuring the fulfilment of basic needs of families while maintaining their dignity.
In Jordan, Zakat contributes to providing sustainable and regular food support to 20,000 registered families across various provinces through the distribution of monthly food parcels, ensuring long-term living stability and protecting families from the consequences of food poverty, and enhancing the social safety net throughout the year.
Tkiyet Um Ali will hold daily mercy tables at its main headquarters in Amman to welcome about 5,000 fasters, in addition to distributing about 150,000 Iftar meals in various provinces in cooperation with partner associations.
In the Gaza Strip, Zakat is employed within a flexible, multi-sector humanitarian response that addresses the nature of the crisis. It includes providing food through food parcels, hot meals, and dates, alongside rehabilitating shelter units that house 6,000 people including 1,000 tents and sanitary units (bathrooms), equipped classrooms, in addition to blankets and winter clothing. This contributes to maintaining families’ rights to housing, food, and education, and supports their ability to adapt to harsh humanitarian conditions.
The General Manager of Tkiyet Um Ali, Samer Balqar, stated that this year's Ramadan campaign reflects the role of Zakat in supporting a comprehensive system of humanitarian and developmental interventions inside Jordan and in the Gaza Strip, ensuring that the impact of donations reaches the neediest families sustainably and throughout the year..
Tkiyet Um Ali accepts Zakat according to Sharia regulations and under an official fatwa. It adheres to governance policies and transparency standards that ensure the proper management of funds at all stages. It also accepts various forms of donations including alms, Iftar meals, family sponsorships, food parcels, and sacrifices.
