Khaberni - The number of overnight tourists and same-day visitors from all of Europe who came to Jordan reached about 87,943 people during the month of January last year, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The data reviewed by "Al-Mamlaka" shows that the number of overnight tourists was 68,867 people, while the number of same-day visitors was 19,076, bringing the total to 87,943 people.
Comparing the same period (January) between 2025 and 2026, the data shows a growth of 17.4% in the number of overnight tourists and same-day visitors from all of Europe.
The number of tourists from all of Europe in January 2025 was about 74,928 people, including 18,769 same-day visitors and 56,159 overnight tourists.
The Central Bank had earlier announced an increase in tourism income during January 2026 by 4.1% reaching $708.5 million, compared to an increase of 22.8% reaching $680.5 million during the same month of the previous year. This is due to a 3.2% increase in the number of tourists, according to preliminary data released by the Central Bank.
The data shows an increase in tourism income during January 2026 from European nationalities (56.9%), Asian (11.6%), American (16.0%), and Arab (3.0%), while the data shows a decrease in tourism income from other nationalities (2.0%) and expatriate Jordanians (3.0%).
The data also shows an increase in spending on tourism abroad during January 2026 by 6.2%, reaching $196.3 million.
