Minister of Awqaf inaugurates Umm Rummanah Mosque in Bireen

Khaberni - The Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places, Dr. Mohammad Khalaileh, inaugurated today, Wednesday, the Great Mosque of Umm Rummanah in the district of Bireen in Zarqa Governorate, after completion of expansion and maintenance works.
Khalaileh stated that Jordan is among the leading countries globally in terms of the number of mosques relative to its population and area, expressing his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the building of the mosque.
He highlighted that the first act performed by Prophet Muhammad upon his migration to Medina was the construction of the Masjid al-Nabawi (Prophet's Mosque), emphasizing that this mosque nurtured men who carried the message of Islam across various fields of life.
He clarified that the construction of the houses of Allah is not limited to the physical building alone, but also includes the spiritual architecture represented in the remembrance of Allah, recitation of the Quran, establishment of prayers, and fostering a spirit of harmony and love among community members.
Several speeches were delivered during the inauguration attended by the Governor of Zarqa, Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud, and the Director of Awqaf Zarqa, Dr. Ahmad Al-Harahsheh, wherein the speakers appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Awqaf, supporters, and donors, affirming that constructing the houses of Allah represents a missionary message based on moderation and temperance.
The expansion works cost 140 thousand dinars, increasing the total area of the mosque to about 1500 square meters from previously 750 square meters, with a capacity of accommodating up to 2000 worshippers.
