External Camp for Nashama Basketball in Dubai

Khaberni - The first national basketball team delegation will depart tomorrow evening, Thursday, to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, to hold an external training camp that will continue until the 24th of this month, as part of an intensive preparation program in preparation for the matches against Iran and Iraq in the second window of the Asian qualifiers leading to the 2027 World Cup.
The Jordan Basketball Federation confirmed that the camp is part of a comprehensive technical plan prepared by the coaching staff in consultation with the technical committee, aiming to enhance physical and technical readiness, boost player coherence, hone tactical aspects, and reach optimal competitive condition before the upcoming continental event.
The delegation includes the Canadian technical director Roy Rana, Japanese coach Makoto Mamiya, national assistants Nayef Asfour and Fadi Yaghmour, video coordinator Raed Ghusheh, fitness coach Ahmad Samir, physiotherapist Anas Jarajra, team manager Mohammed Dabbas, and administrator Abd Al-Hadi Salameh, in addition to 13 players: Ahmad Hamarsheh, Mohammad Shaher, Hashem Abbas, Fadi Mustafa "Freddie", Mahmoud Al-Hazaimeh, Yazan Al-Taweel, Abdullah Olajuwon, Youssef Abu Wazneh, Malek Kanaan, Youssef Al-Dweik, Akef Al-Shiyab, and Fadi Qarmash.
Additionally, center player Ahmad Al-Duwairi, who plays for the Turkish team Ircospor, will join the national team delegation in Dubai, followed by the naturalized player Jalen Harris, coming from his team New Taipei Kings.
The camp includes playing two friendly matches against the Saudi and UAE teams, to assess the players' levels and test their technical readiness, before heading to the Lebanese capital Beirut on the 24th of this month, in preparation to face the Iranian team at 7:00 PM on Friday the 27th of February, then the Iraqi team at 4:00 PM on Monday the 2nd of March, at Nihad Noufal Complex.
The national team had started its journey in the qualifiers strongly, achieving two victories in the first window against Syria with scores (74-59) and (100-48), leading the standings of Group 3 with 4 points, ahead of the Iranian team which also has the same score, while Iraq and Syria hold the third and fourth positions with two points each.
The federation pointed out that this preparation stage represents a pivotal station in the team’s journey and reflects its commitment to providing the best technical and administrative conditions, ensuring the continuation of positive results, and enhancing the presence of Jordanian basketball regionally, with aspirations that match the expectations of the fans.
