Khaberni - German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accompanied by the First Lady, examined the operations of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) registration center in the capital, Amman, as part of his official visit that he commenced to the Kingdom.
Steinmeier also listened to Maria Stavropoulou, the UNHCR representative in Jordan, discuss the most significant efforts made by the Commission in providing protection and essential services to refugees, in cooperation with partners and considering the needs of the most vulnerable groups.
The German President expressed his appreciation for the role Jordan plays in hosting refugees, affirming the continued support of his country for the related humanitarian programs.
The visit of the German President comes within the framework of Germany's keenness to solidify its strategic partnership with Jordan, supporting the Kingdom in education, vocational training, scientific research, and backing its efforts in dealing with the ramifications of regional crises.
