Khaberni - The Court of Cassation, the highest judicial authority in the Kingdom, has upheld the death sentence by hanging until death for a young woman after she was convicted of stabbing her father to death in the Rusaifa area.
The details of the case date back to last August, following family disputes between the victim and his wife that ended in divorce and the mother leaving the home. According to the court's decision, a discussion ensued between the defendant and her father, during which she stabbed him with a knife in the chest area, leading to his death.
The Grand Criminal Court had convicted the defendant of the felony of murder with intent against one of the ascendants, contrary to the provisions of Article (3/328) of the Jordanian Penal Code, and sentenced her to death last September, before the Court of Cassation endorsed the sentence and deemed it final and binding according to legal procedures.
