Khaberni - A ministerial delegation began a work visit to the Italian capital, Rome, including the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan, the Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Italy Qais Abu Dayeh.
This comes within the framework of economic and diplomatic activity reflecting the Kingdom’s direction toward expanding its investment presence in the European Union countries.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Investment on Wednesday, this visit comes in the context of ongoing government efforts to establish the business environment in Jordan as a reliable investment destination in the region and to promote the investment opportunities provided by the Kingdom, contributing to attracting quality investments that support economic growth and provide new opportunities for cooperation in priority sectors, in preparation for the Jordanian-European investment conference next April.
The visit's program included a series of important meetings with Italian government officials and economic leaders, and representatives of major companies and economic and commercial institutions.
During the visit, the delegation participated in a high-level economic event held at the headquarters of the Italian Trade Agency, with participation from the Deputy Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, and the head of the Italian Trade Agency, Matteo Zupas, where opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between Jordan and Italy were discussed.
The delegation also held a number of expanded meetings and bilateral encounters with prominent economic institutions and businessmen, aiming to enhance direct communication between the business communities of the two countries and build strategic partnerships and attract quality and sustainable investments that support the economic growth journey in the Kingdom.
Minister Toukan stated that this visit reflects the depth and strength of the relations between the two countries, emphasizing the Kingdom's keenness to enhance them in a way that supports economic development efforts and expands investment opportunities in vital sectors.
She pointed out the importance of developing partnerships according to the best modern economic practices, which achieve the mutual interests of the two friendly countries.
For his part, Minister Abu Ghazaleh presented the most significant actions taken by the Jordanian government to develop the business environment and simplify administrative procedures, contributing to improving the investment climate and saving time and effort for investors, enabling them to benefit from the incentives and facilities that enhance Jordan's competitiveness as an attractive location for investment, highlighting the importance of opening avenues for joint cooperation between the business community and the private sector in both countries.
Abu Ghazaleh conducted interviews and meetings with a number of Italian media outlets, focusing on the investment opportunities in Jordan and the advantages of the business and investment environment that enhance the Kingdom's attractiveness as a safe investment destination in the region.
For his part, Ambassador Abu Dayeh emphasized the importance of this visit in enhancing the economic relations between the two countries, noting that it reflects the strength of the Jordanian-Italian partnership and the keenness of both sides to expand investment cooperation, within the framework of the strategic relationship with Italy and the European Union, especially with the upcoming conference on 21st April next.
