Orange Summer Challenge 2025 Orange Middle East and Africa Crown 3 Entrepreneurial Companies

Orange Middle East and Africa held the award distribution ceremony for the third edition of the Global Orange Summer Challenge in this current February, where three innovative startups developed by young entrepreneurs from Africa and the Middle East were crowned.

The challenge comes as one of the leading programs of the Orange Digital Center, representing an annual global competition organized to support young talents and enable them to transform their ideas into technological solutions with sustainable social and environmental impact.

The program translates the solid commitment of Orange Jordan to empowering young men and women, enhancing their digital skills, increasing their job opportunities, and providing them with the expertise required for the job market through the Orange Digital Center (ODC) programs including the Innovation Meetup, Digital Fabrication Lab, Coding School, and BIG by Orange, which contributed to providing specialized mentoring and teamwork within a supportive environment, cementing the company's approach to supporting innovation and integrating entrepreneurship with the Jordanian economy.

In its 2025 edition, the program supported 369 innovative young men and women from 14 countries for three months under the guidance and supervision of Orange Middle East and Africa and the Orange Digital Center, covering training, mentorship, and access to the required technological expertise. 56 emerging projects were developed under the theme Startup4Good, with a focus on key sectors including environment, health, education, and agriculture, and in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Meta, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Hashgraph Association, and Blockchain House.

This reflects the efforts of the Orange Group in elevating the Orange Digital Center as a comprehensive innovation platform, and according to the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Orange Middle East and Africa, Haydar Ben Sheikh, for more than 16 years, the Orange Summer Challenge has been a true motivator for talents and innovation. More than just a competition, the program enables young entrepreneurs to develop technology-based solutions, particularly artificial intelligence, to address societal and environmental challenges in a tangible way. The company is committed through the Orange Digital Center to supporting the youth and enhancing high-impact innovation across the Middle East and Africa.

The SafeGuard project from Jordan won the first place with a grant of 22,000 euros to enable its positive impact and continue offering innovative solutions for the society and environment. This is due to the project providing smart safety devices for job sites that allow direct monitoring and comprehensive reporting on the team, enhancing occupational safety and effectively reducing risks, making work environments safer and more efficient.
