Jordan Customs Seizes Large Quantities of Counterfeit Jaws Molasses and Tobacco

Khaberni - The customs personnel working in the Anti-Smuggling Directorate, in cooperation with the security agencies, managed to seize large quantities of smuggled goods in stores set up for this purpose.

The seized items included 6,500 bottles of Jaws, half a ton of assorted molasses, 20 kilograms of tobacco unfit for consumption, 2,000 cartons of cigarettes, 280 electronic cigarette pods, and various prohibited counterfeit goods that are made locally and replicate international brands.

It was confirmed that these efforts aim to protect the national economy and the health of the citizens, reflecting on the citizen's health, combating commercial fraud and smuggled goods that violate public health rules, preserving market fairness, raising awareness about the dangers of smuggling and its negative impacts on society and the economy.

The customs clarified that the success of these operations is due to the close cooperation between customs and security agencies, along with a real partnership with citizens who are a fundamental pillar in combating smuggling by providing information that contributes to their health and safety and supports compliant traders.

They emphasized the continuation of market surveillance and cutting off smuggling sources, which directly affect local industries and the national economy, urging citizens to cooperate and report immediately any activity or violation that could harm the national economy or the health of the citizen, through the toll-free number (105) – Anti-Smuggling Operations Center.
