Khaberni - In the past two days, a campaign of attacks on social media has been launched against the series "Everyone Loves Modi" in which the artist Yasser Galal is participating in the Ramadan drama race, with calls from activists on these platforms to stop airing the series, on the grounds that it is unseemly for a member of the Egyptian Senate to appear on screen dancing and singing, at a time when he is supposed to represent the second legislative chamber in Egypt.
A photo of Yasser Galal from the set of the series has been spread, showing him holding a microphone, singing and dancing on stage with the band behind him, and commenting on it and demanding that the series not be shown as it is unbecoming for a Senate member to be depicted in this manner.
The pictures have been widely shared on social media platforms, while a number of Yasser Galal's fans have defended the artist, asserting that the series was filmed before Yasser became a member of the Senate, and that he should not be held accountable for a role he contracted for before he became a deputy.
Yasser Galal reveals his collaboration on an artistic project with Radwa El Sherbiny
Yasser Galal had revealed during a phone intervention with the program "She and Only" presented by media personality Radwa El Sherbiny on dmc channel, about an anticipated project that involves El Sherbiny, confirming that he had previously offered her to participate in one of his artistic works but she had declined.
And Yasser said: "Radwa and I have a blockbuster project and I had spoken to her before about a role and I really wanted her to take the part but she refused, and she receives many offers." And added: "I love diversity and variety, and I do not like to limit myself to a specific character."
On her part, Radwa El Sherbiny said: "We must take care of our own light, and I was shocked when I saw the trailer 'Everyone Loves Modi', and I'm excited about your series and that you are presenting comedy."
The series "Everyone Loves Modi," revolves around a wealthy businessman who grew up fulfilling all his desires since childhood, leading to a life of fun, nightlife, and multiple marriages, until he loses all his wealth, and the events escalate when he tries to save himself from bankruptcy by marrying a wealthy woman belonging to a popular class, in a social comedic framework full of many paradoxes.
Yasser Galal stars in the series alongside a number of stars, including: Mervat Amin, Ayten Amer, Mostafa Abu Seria, Jouri Baker, Hoda El Etrbi, Mohsen Mansour, Jody Massoud, Iman Youssef..., and it is written by Amin Salama and directed by Ahmed Shafik.
