Khaberni - The Mufti of the Iraqi nation announced on Tuesday evening that Wednesday, corresponding to the eighteenth of February 2026, is the completion day of the month of Sha'ban, and therefore, Thursday, the nineteenth of February, is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447 Hijri in Iraq.
This announcement is contrary to what was issued by the Sunni Waqf Board in Iraq, reflecting differences in the observation and monitoring of the crescent for the holy month this year.
His Eminence the Mufti has called on the citizens to adhere to what has been decreed by the Fatwa House, praying to the Lord to accept everyone's good deeds and to make it a month of goodness and blessing for Iraq and its people.
