Late Payments from the Past 5 Years Amounting to 42 Million Dinars for 11 Presses

Khaberni - The Cabinet has decided in its session held today, Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, to approve the payment of arrears accumulated over five years, amounting to 42 million dinars in favor of 11 presses that were tasked with printing textbooks and curricula on behalf of the Ministry of Education, including 30 million dinars approved by the council last Sunday as part of a package to settle arrears totaling 125 million dinars.

The decision is part of the government's policy to settle outstanding debts and accumulations over the years in favor of a number of entities, where the total amount the government has paid in the past weeks is nearly more than 287 million dinars.

The Cabinet had decided in its session last Sunday to settle arrears accumulated over five years on ministries, governmental and official institutions in favor of power distribution companies, totaling about 60 million dinars, in addition to settling arrears owing to the Yarmouk Water Company valued at 10 million dinars, and to the Water Authority 25 million dinars, for the benefit of the power distribution companies

Furthermore, the Cabinet had decided last week to settle dues and arrears for public universities exceeding the value of 100 million dinars, preceded by the settlement of the debt of King Abdullah University Hospital amounting to 40 million dinars, and the University of Jordan Hospital amounting to 10 million dinars.

On another note, the Cabinet decided to appoint Dhammam Mohammad Abdul Qader Khreisat as the General Manager of the Postal Savings Fund, after he achieved the highest marks according to the competition conducted in accordance with the leadership position appointment system.
