Khaberni - The Syndicate of Restaurant and Sweet Shop Owners announced the official price lists for selling Qatayef, with the large piece priced between 1 dinar and 1.1 dinars, while the price range for the small piece "alsafiri" is between 1.1 and 1.25 dinars.
The syndicate's chief, Omar Awad, confirmed that the prices of Qatayef have not changed from last Ramadan, and that the price caps are binding for the sale of the Qatayef (raw dough) for this season.
He said that setting the price is part of the efforts by the syndicate and the relevant authorities to regulate the market rhythm before the holy month, during which demand for this product increases significantly.
The syndicate emphasized the necessity for all bakeries and sweet shops to adhere to these announced prices, warning against exploiting people's needs in Ramadan to raise prices.
It called on citizens to report any violations they observe in the markets, where inspection teams from the Ministry of Industry and Trade will intensify their rounds to ensure compliance with the price caps and the quality of the product.
