The King Chairs a New Round of Aqaba Meetings in the UK

Khaberni  - His Majesty King Abdullah II chaired today, Tuesday, a new round of the "Aqaba Meetings" initiative, at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the UK, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince.

The round, which was held for the second time discussing airspace management and the use of drones, discussed ways to utilize modern systems to deal with common challenges in this framework, and cooperation and exchange of expertise to ensure the safety and efficiency of airspace usage.

The meetings, which included participation from experts and CEOs of specialized international companies and representatives from several countries, emphasized the need to update relevant legislation and legal frameworks to keep pace with rapid technological progress in this field.

Since the launch of the "Aqaba Meetings" by His Majesty the King in 2015 to enhance coordination, cooperation, and exchange of expertise among various regional and international parties, previous rounds have been held in Jordan, in the countries of Spain, Albania, Indonesia, Italy, Brazil, Bulgaria, Rwanda, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Norway, Nigeria, the Netherlands, the United States, in addition to the United Nations, in partnership with the Kingdom.
