Khaberni - The capital, Amman, witnessed the first official meeting between the Jordanian Hotel Association and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, attended by His Excellency Minister Dr. Imad Hijazin, and a part of the board members, in a step that reflects the true spirit of partnership between the public and private sectors to support the progress of Jordanian tourism.
During the meeting, the association outlined the main challenges facing the hotel sector in the kingdom, including rising operational costs, a shortage of qualified labor, the need to update certain legislations to keep pace with regional and global changes, in addition to enhancing tourism promotion and opening new markets that contribute to increasing occupancy rates and achieving sustainable growth.
The president of the association emphasized that the next phase requires a concerted effort and setting clear priorities that enhance the competitiveness of the Jordanian hotel product, stressing the importance of joint work to find practical and implementable solutions that preserve the stability of the sector and support its investments.
For his part, His Excellency the Minister presented his vision for the coming period, outlining the strategic directions that the ministry aims to achieve in partnership with the association, at the forefront of which are improving service quality, enhancing training and qualification, and increasing operational efficiency, aligning with the economic modernization vision and enhancing Jordan's position on the regional and international tourism map.
The attendees praised the collaborative approach followed by His Excellency the Minister, affirming that this direct dialogue reflects the ministry's commitment to listening to the sector's observations and responding to its challenges with a positive and responsible spirit. The minister also expressed his full support for the hotel sector, affirming that the ministry's doors will remain open to everything that can develop the tourism industry and support its sustainability.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold another meeting in the coming days to discuss the issues raised more broadly and in greater detail, to keep up with developments, and to establish clear implementation mechanisms that ensure the achievement of joint goals.
This meeting serves as a clear message that the next phase will witness closer cooperation and higher coordination between the ministry and the association, enhancing investors' confidence and solidifying Jordan’s position as a safe and distinguished tourist destination at the regional and global levels.
