Cold and rainy low pressure hits the Levant Details

Khaberni - The Regional Wasem Center clarified that the region is affected by a low pressure system centered above northern Cyprus, accompanied by cold and humid weather, leading to scattered rain showers at spaced intervals starting today during the day and lasting until the evening across most regions of the Levant.

The center pointed to renewed rain showers tomorrow Wednesday, starting from Syria and Lebanon where the rainfall will be heavier, then gradually spreading towards Jordan on Wednesday evening and continuing until Thursday noon in the form of scattered showers.

The Wasem Center noted a temporary stabilization in the weather on Friday and Saturday before the region is affected by the onset of a long-lasting polar wave starting mid-next week.

The weather will be very cold and rainy with heavy downpours, and will include all regions of the Levant including Jordan, with snowfall expected on the high mountains in Syria and Lebanon.

The center clarified that the polar wave will gradually deepen and have a direct impact on the region, indicating that its effects might be limited to profound low pressures and large amounts of precipitation, with the possibility of snowfall remaining likely during the upcoming period, although it might not cover all areas comprehensively.

The center called on citizens to follow daily weather bulletins, and take necessary precautions regarding travel and be wary of slippages due to rain, especially in mountainous areas.
