Details of a Closed Session Bringing Together Gulf and Arab Leaders in Munich

Khaberni - Former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa, reveals details of a closed session at a hotel in Munich, Germany, attended by senior Arab officials on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The former Secretary-General explained that the closed session, organized by the Gulf Research Center in cooperation with the International Crisis Group, was titled "Paths to Peace: The Growing Role of the Gulf States in Conflict Resolution."

The session included a number of senior regional and international officials, among them Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia; Rashad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of Yemen; Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates; and Prince Turki Al-Faisal, along with several Foreign Ministers and officials from the Gulf and Europe.

He affirmed that the session featured extensive discussions on the role of Gulf diplomacy in conflict resolution and regional crisis management, presenting an Arab vision on regional security issues, outlining the main challenges and developments in the region, and emphasizing the importance of adopting realistic diplomatic approaches based on balancing regional and international interests.

Moussa emphasized that the region is going through a dangerous phase that requires a greater degree of Arab coordination and the enhancement of preventive diplomacy tools. He stressed the necessity to work on formulating new regional security arrangements that keep pace with major transformations in the international system, ensuring stability and development in the Middle East and the Red Sea.

He pointed out that the Munich Security Conference remains one of the most important international platforms for strategic dialogue, as it provides an opportunity for direct communication between decision-makers and experts from around the world, and the exchange of views on issues of security, peace, and development.

Munich Security Conference is considered the largest annual international forum for discussing global security policy, usually held in February each year in Munich, bringing together Heads of State and Government, Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense, security officials, experts, and representatives from international organizations.
