Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said that he might participate in resolving the crisis between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, in response to a question from journalists during his return on the plane to Washington from Florida.
And the US President said regarding a role he might play in improving the relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia: "No, I am not involved in that."
And the US President added: "I can do that. Well, I can easily solve this issue. They have differences, and we can solve them very easily."
Relations deteriorated between the two countries amid escalating tensions in Yemen at the beginning of last December, after separatists from the Southern Transitional Council, backed by the UAE, took control of the eastern provinces of Hadramout and Mahra. In response, the Yemeni government canceled the joint defense agreement with the UAE and asked for military assistance from the coalition led by Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Air Force launched a series of raids on positions of the Southern Transitional Council. Last January, some leaders of the council, who arrived in Riyadh for talks, announced the dissolution of the council. Supporters of the council's leader, Aidarous al-Zubaidi, who headed to the UAE according to the Saudi coalition, rejected the decision to dissolve the council. On January 11, the Yemeni authorities announced that government forces had regained control over the southern and eastern provinces, including the temporary capital, Aden.
