Hamas rejects Israels 60day deadline to surrender arms

Khaberni - Mahmoud Mardawi, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), confirmed the movement's total rejection of the deadline mentioned by Israeli media, which grants Hamas 60 days to surrender all its weapons, including individual arms.

Mardawi stated in remarks to the “Al-Masa’iya” program on Al Jazeera Mubasher that the movement has not received any official notification from any party regarding this decision, stressing that statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - who is wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Gaza - and the media are just baseless threats in the ongoing negotiations.

Mardawi added that Israel, through its policies in the West Bank and Jerusalem, is fundamentally waging a religious war, not merely a military occupation, citing control of religious sites such as Rachel's Tomb and the Ibrahimi Mosque, as well as displacement and annexation operations aiming at the Judaization of Jerusalem.

He explained that these measures are intended to push the Palestinian people to emigrate but will not achieve their goal, emphasizing that Palestinians will persist in their land despite the ongoing siege and killing in Gaza and the West Bank.

Palestinian factions dialogue
In response to a question about Israel's threat to use force after the deadline, Mardawi confirmed that any threats would have serious repercussions on the region, asserting that the Palestinian people will not raise the white flag.

He added that this policy aims to expel Palestinians to neighboring countries such as Jordan, but it will not succeed because Palestinians are clinging to their land, homes, and villages, and will continue to stand firm and defend their holy sites.

The Hamas leader confirmed that there is ongoing dialogue among Palestinian factions, including the Authority and Fatah Movement, to achieve a united Palestinian stance on the Judaization and land seizure happening in the West Bank, stressing that any absence of national unity endangers the Palestinian cause.

He explained that a unified Arab and Islamic stance is essential to confront these Israeli policies and protect the lands and holy sites.

Mardawi concluded his remarks by stating that the Palestinians are ready to face any threat, and that defending Palestine and its holy sites is a collective responsibility that falls on the Arab and Islamic nation, emphasizing that any attempts at partial peace or land concessions will not succeed, and the Palestinian people will remain steadfast and struggling to defend their homeland until the last breath.
