Khaberni - Director of the American city "Foxborough," Big Duncan, issued a stern warning regarding hosting the World Cup matches next summer at "Gillette Stadium," stressing that the lack of necessary funding to secure the event might lead to its cancellation in the city.
GOLZ channel on X stated: "Big Duncan clarified that the city needs about 8 million dollars to cover the costs of public safety and security during the matches."
She pointed out that this amount is primarily allocated to fund the Foxborough police forces, responsible for law enforcement inside and outside the stadium.
Duncan clearly stated: "If no one provides the money, there will be no World Cup in Foxborough," emphasizing that the high costs associated with hosting cannot be borne by the local taxpayers.
These statements come at a critical time, and the city has set a strict timetable to resolve matters:
February 17: An anticipated meeting with representatives of the International Football Association (FIFA) in city hall to discuss the crisis.
March 17: The final deadline set by the city for granting "FIFA" the necessary license to hold the event.
According to local laws, the city of Foxborough owns the land on which "Gillette Stadium" (owned by the Kraft Group) is situated, and it is the entity that grants the necessary licenses for events, including National Football League (NFL) matches.
The city director confirmed that she sent an official letter to the organizers last month to explain the situation, ensuring the city's commitment to cooperation and meticulous planning, but contingent on securing external funding for security requirements.
It is noted that "Gillette Stadium" is scheduled to host 7 matches in the World Cup finals this summer, putting significant pressure on the logistics and security resources of the small city.
