Khaberni - FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, received Lebanese nationality on Monday, after he completed the official procedures during his visit to Lebanon.
Infantino held several meetings, and gathered with his wife Lina Al-Ashkar and family members, with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, in the presence of the President of the Lebanese Football Association Hashim Haidar.
In a statement, the Lebanese presidency mentioned that Infantino thanked President Aoun for granting him and his family members Lebanese nationality after completing the official procedures.
Infantino and Aoun discussed a project to build a modern football stadium with international specifications, fully funded by FIFA, to enhance the performance and effectiveness of the Lebanese national team and clubs, according to the same source.
Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar also received Infantino and his wife in his office, along with other officials from the Lebanese Football Association.
During the reception, Haidar presented Infantino with a Lebanese national team jersey with his name and the number 9.
Infantino also visited Minister of Youth and Sports Nora Bayraghdarian, who congratulated him on his Lebanese nationality and thanked him for his efforts to support Lebanon, especially in building modern facilities, and discussed Lebanese sports ideas and projects.
Infantino holds both Swiss and Italian nationalities, and is married to Lebanese Lina Al-Ashkar.
