Khaberni - The Alexandria Criminal Court in northern Egypt sentenced 7 accused to death by hanging until death, and punished an eighth accused with life imprisonment in a horrific murder case that caused a state of panic in Egypt.

The Alexandria Criminal Court issued its judgment on the accused in case number 7840 for the year 2024, criminal section of the Borg El Arab police station, on charges of premeditated murder with the intention and premeditation of the victim and the killing of one of the drivers, attempted murder of another driver, forming an armed gang for car theft, and possession of firearms and ammunition without a license.

The horrific crime events were witnessed by the governorate of Alexandria when the Alexandria Security Directorate received a report from the Borg El Arab police station about a shooting incident on the Al-Hamam - Borg El Arab road, which resulted in the death of a truck driver and serious injuries to his companion.

Investigations revealed that the accused formed a gang led by the first accused, equipped with automatic rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and cars to carry out armed robbery operations on transport vehicles.

The accused targeted a transport vehicle loaded with large quantities of cigarettes and money, driven by the first victim "A.M.Sh" and accompanied by "Min.A.El", until they pursued them with two vehicles, one of which cut off their path. The driver stopped trying to escape and maneuver.

After legalizing the procedures, the security forces were able to apprehend all the accused, and the public prosecution took over the investigations that resulted in their referral to the criminal court, until the court referred the papers of 7 accused to the Grand Mufti of the Republic for a religious opinion on their execution before issuing the final judgment today.
